My Journey

My journey in the world of welding and robotics began as a hand welder at Koni, where I learned the foundational skills of robot programming. That early exposure sparked a passion for robot programming and automation that has guided me every single step of the the way.

Later, I found my place at Valk Welding, where I had the opportunity to grow from the ground up. Learning to sit, walk, stand, and eventually run within the company. Over the years, I gained experience across a wide range of profiles:

By the end of 2025, I made the leap to become self-employed and started GD Automation, with the ambition to be the go-to expert for companies seeking cutting-edge robot programming, optimization, and automation solutions.

Special Skillsets

During the 12.5 years at Valk Welding, I developed automation scripts and smart solutions, such as copying programs between robot systems and creating CAD links to automatically generate programs for modular products.

I've guided robot programming projects from A to Z, making sure every step, from planning to execution and delivery, leads to reliable and efficient results. Along the way, I've built up deep expertise in robot calibration and software alignment, always aiming for precision and reliability. Working closely with customers, I learned how to provide effective consultancy, uncovering bottlenecks and solving complex automation challenges.

To push flexibility even further, I've implemented functions like automatic programming and advanced optimizations. A core part of my work is fine-tuning robot programs for both quality and speed, supported by detailed cycle time calculations. These combined skills allow me to deliver practical improvements that boost productivity and efficiency in robotic welding systems.

  • Modular based programming (See QPC below)
  • Robot calibration & software alignment
  • Consultancy: robotics systems, bottlenecks, problem-solving
  • Complete project execution (A - Z)
  • Automation scripts.
    • Copying programs between robot systems
    • Link with CAD software via textual data of products to generate programs for modular products
    • Automatic shifting and more.
  • Program optimization (quality & speed)
  • Cycle time calculations

General Expertise

In addition, I have hands-on experience with modular-based programming (see QPC below) and programming Panasonic G2, G3, and G4 robots. My welding expertise spans MIG/MAG, TIG, and working with steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, as well as plasma cutting and oxyfuel cutting. . On the software side, I develop in C++, VBA, web development ( HTML, CSS, Javascript ), and Panasonic's DTPS macro language, combining robotics with programming to create powerful, tailored automation solutions.

Robots, Software & Tools

During my time at Valk Welding, I had the opportunity to lead the development of two powerful software solutions: QPC (Quick Program Configurator) and QPT (Quick Programming Tools). QPC is designed as a parametric robot programming tool, making it possible to program modular products faster, more accurately, and with greater flexibility. QPT complements this by streamlining DTPS workflows, automating repetitive tasks and freeing up valuable time for higher-level programming. Both tools were born from real-world production challenges, and it was rewarding to see them transform everyday robot programming into smoother, smarter, and more efficient processes.
